Tokyo Fashion Police!

Anyone well versed in modern Japanese ‘factoids’ would know that Tokyo and Osaka aren’t exactly the closest friends-imagine the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees, except as cities not just baseball teams.

I have absolutely no desire to go to Osaka.

I know I’d hate it.

All Japanese say that Osaka is really a love-hate thing; those who like Tokyo always hate Osaka, and vice versa.

レッスン１：アバクロなどのブランドを買うなら、是非インタネットで買ってね！！！中古ショップで買ったらアメリカの値段より３、４倍高くなります！！！！！！rakuten.co.jpは結構安いけど、有名なサイトであるので、rakutenで買っても高くなります。僕のお勧めは直輸入通販ショップである。インタネットでサーチ舌時に一番好きな日本人向きのショップはamericanbrand.jpとなりました。なぜなら、そのお店はアメリカのロスアンジェレスから日本へ輸入します。輸入すると、凄く安くなります！洋服会社からダイレクトに輸入したら、タックスも輸入費も安くなります。

We’ve all heard of Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers, and we all know that that small area toward the end of Omotesando is probably the freakiest area of Tokyo - the one with the craziest fashions. Yes I did say crazy.Not in the creative, innovative, sense. Just in the blatantly flashy cheap sense. Most of the girls you’ll find in Harajuku are what the Japanese would call cheap nobody’s with spray-on tans (ganguro). The place to go for top of the line fashion is not Harajuku, but actually the area just outside the main Harajuku alleyway- Omotesando Dori. Here you’ll find the real fashion: designers, unique indie styles, and more traditional Japanese clothing.

Save your time and skip Harajuku.

I learned Japanese by living and studying in Fukuoka, Japan from January until July of 2009. Throughout that time, I experienced many things I never thought I would have, and made lots of friends. But what struck me the most was really how much I love Japan. Everything about it. The food, the people, and the fashion! There is no place like Japan - everyone spends every dollar they have on superficiality: thousand-dollar cell phones, brand-name purses, and overpriced imports.

I have decided not only to start exporting clothes from the US to Japan, via my webpage americanbrand.jp, but also blogging on all the fashions I see in Japan and the US, and how they incorporate together.
